Association Against Anna

“Good evening, everybody. It is so nice of you to have come here once again in such large numbers. This is the monthly meeting of the Association Against Anna. Ik have seen a couple of new faces, welcome. Unfortunately, some people could not make it and had to cancel. As usual, Jolene will call those who are absent and tell them about their duties for next month. In case they cannot execute their orders, we have a couple of people on the back-up list. Everything will, of course, be arranged and it looks like it is going to be a promising month once again.

“Paul has sent you last month’s minutes and the agenda for today. Thank you, Paul. Petra noticed a mistake she wanted to see corrected. The flowerpot was not broken on the 23rd but on the 13th. A small typo. These things happen. Luckily, it was not a big deal this time. And if I am not mistaken Peter wanted to talk about her new boyfriend. He could not make it today, because had promised to take Anna to a Household Event. Her new boyfriend is going to make sure they are going to bump into his ex-wife.

“So much for the introduction. I hereby declare this meeting opened. Let’s start. First item on the list is a short evaluation of last month’s efforts. Eric, what can you tell us about that?”

“Yes, thanks mister chairman. It was quite a trying month for Anna. Maybe we had scheduled too many mishaps. We all noticed this. It was a little too busy If we look at the dead car battery that coincided with the leakage and the angry mail from her boss, I think we need to plan these things a little better in the future. To me, that seems better for Anna and for our association and its volunteers. Anna must, of course, find life very trying and hard, but we must, at all times, prevent her for going round the bend and maybe hurt herself. Thank you, mister chairman.”

“Thank you, Eric. Valid points there. More and more often, with other associations like ours, we notice that things go amiss. Extremely unfortunate, because it is so much more satisfying when we can torment someone for a prolonged time. It is precision work, and we need to find the perfect balance. We will have to be careful with what we do next month.

“Martha, you had an update on her financial situation. I think we can all remember how things seem to be going in the right direction about half a year ago. Ruben was lucky he had been able to send her a couple of huge unexpected bills and a tax form she had somehow forgotten. We are, of course, looking for a long term solution. Martha?”

“Rightly so, mister chairman. With the aforementioned angry email from her employee, we are making a way towards unemployment. He might give her the sack at some point. As you pointed out before, we need to find the perfect balance. We need to work out if we are not overdoing things when getting her fired. Other options we are considering are raising her rent and other costs of living. Maybe we could do away with certain benefits she is enjoying now or put a stop to the alimony she is getting. For that we need to see if it will hold up in court. In any case, there are possibilities, and we are looking into things. Thank you, mister chairman.”

“Thank you, Martha. I see a hand over there. You are new here, I see. Please, introduce yourself and ask away.”

“Hello, I am Xandra. I started two weeks ago. I have noticed that Anna often says things like ‘why is it always me?’ and ‘it seems like everybody and everything is against me’. Does this mean she is onto us? Do we have to do something about this?”

“That is a very good question, Xandra. No, these are harmless statements. They are often heard, but our victims can never prove anything. I am glad you noticed this. Most of us know when the shit has really hit the fan. We will put this on next month’s agenda. With so many new members here, that might be a good idea. We can also discuss our care-team and crisis team in case Anna is really onto something. Thank you, Xandra. Peter, it is your turn.”

“Thank you, mister chairman. Anna has a new boyfriend. We are very pleased to say that he is a member of this association. Her former boyfriend was, as you all know, part of the Association Against Albert. That often conflicted with our agenda. Henry, her new boyfriend, is acquainted with the work we do seeing that he has been a member for some time now.

“Today, as you have already pointed out, mister chairman, he is taking her to a Household Event where they will bump into his ex-wife. I am happy to announce that starting next month, she will also be with our association. That will open up new possibilities for the future. As Relationship Manager of this association, I am looking forward to working together with her. Thank you, mister chairman.”

“Thank you, Peter. That is, indeed, very good news. Last item for today. Melissa will give you a short list of tasks for the next three weeks. We took into account the really busy month we have already had. Melissa?”

“Thank you, mister chairman. For next month we will lay low for a bit. Anna has just reorganised her finances and is going to talk to her employee. John, that’s you. A small warning seems more than enough this time. An official warning will not be necessary yet. Let’s see what our Financial Department has to say next month. Martha, where are you? Ah, there you are. We had initially agreed on you ending your friendship with her in a very crude manner, but I think it would be best for now if you’d just ghost her as people do nowadays. And lastly, this one is for our False Hope Department, Anna has to hear that there might be a way to get rid of her returning infections. I’ll leave it up to you how you go about this. Thank you, mister chairman.”

“Right. If there are no further questions or remarks, then we will leave it at this for today. Our thinktank will be rather busy behind the scenes the upcoming three weeks. I hope to see you all again next month. Same time and same place. Some of you I will be seeing tomorrow at the gathering of the Association Against Chris. I’d like to thank you for your endless effort. Good job, all of you! Have a good time.”
